This past Friday Kris had a snow day, so we kicked back and enjoyed a relaxing morning in bed. Jack loved having Daddy around. I took a few shots while the boys enjoyed breakfast in bed.

Baltimore
Two weekends ago my husband took me away for a night in Baltimore. Needless to say it was so nice to be able to get away from the responsibilities of house-cleaning, Jack-watching, and food-cooking. We stayed in a hotel across the street from Peabody. Here is the view from our room.
We went over President's Day weekend, so it was only appropriate that we honor Mr. George Washington by visiting a statue created in his honor. For any of you who are actually reading the words and not just looking at the pictures, did you know I'm related to George Washington? At least this is what my grandmother tells me, and I don't mind believing it (and reminding my husband of it frequently).
Here are a couple more pics I took as we walked from our hotel to the Inner Harbor. (Quick shout out and thanks to my friend Rachael Pookay who gave me her camera years ago. Rachael, thank you. It has been one of the greatest gifts I've ever received. I love taking pictures!)
We met up with some of our friends for dinner the night we were there. We were originally going to go to Legal Seafood, but they were closed down (sadness). So our friends made reservations at M & S Grill. Did anyone else besides us not know that "M & S Grill" is a non-fancy way of saying McCormick and Schmick's??
It wasn't until after we had finished eating and were looking at the bill that we realized where we had really been. Kris said, "We were at McCormick and Schmick's this whole time!? I wish I would have known! I think I would have enjoyed my meal more."

A Day with Nana and Josiah
This past Saturday my mom and brother decided they needed some Jack time. So they made the drive and Jack was able to show them all the new things he's doing.
First we took a walk and went to the park.
Going down the slide head first was his idea, not mine.

Here's a little video of our adventure on the slide.
We had such a fun time with you Mom and Jos! Come back soon!
Something I'm grateful my parents didn't have when I was a kid: a video camera. Here's a little something that might show up in a wedding slideshow one day... :)
Is it just me or does it seem like he's trying to flex for the camera?

Messy Baby, Washington, and Walks
I'm going to let the pictures tell most of the stories. This first story is about one of Jack's favorite books. It's called Messy Baby. His favorite thing about the book is this little puzzle piece messy baby that fits in the pages throughout the book. Well, he's not a reader quite yet, but he is a biter. Here's what happened.
Kris told Jack that we were going to visit Uncle George. Then he turned to me and said, "Wouldn't that be cool if we really did know him and we were like, 'Hey, let's go visit Uncle George!'" These sorts of thoughts don't even cross my mind!
Needless to say Messy Baby had to be removed from his book.
One of our recent family trips was into DC. Jack really likes traveling. I was in the back seat with him for a bit of trip. Here are a couple shots on our way out of town.

I love you too, Buddy.

He Crawls!
No more beached whale...our little boy decided to start crawling yesterday. He's still a bit slow and awkward, but he's getting the hang of it.
For all of you who are wondering why all our videos remind you of Charlie Chaplain, it's because our little camera doesn't pick up sound. Who needs sound when you've got a cute, fat baby crawling around!?

Books and Balls
As most of you know my husband has a special affection for books. In fact, he just got back home from driving to work to go get a book that he had neglected to bring home (one he was very much looking forward to reading apparently). When he arrived home later than expected I asked why and he said because he had been reading in the car. :) So, needless to say, he loves books. I'm still working on developing the same affection. I think he's at least passed it along to Jackers.
Another one of Jack's favorite things to do now is play ball. Below are a few videos that show some examples. These are for you, Mom. (My mom called me yesterday just wondering what Jack was up to these days...that's when I knew I needed to update the blog.)

Just another evidence that boys and girls play differently.
