Williamsburg in the Winter

December 5th my Hubby proposed to me. Ahhhh...sweet memories. So, since then we've returned to the spot where he proposed at the same time. This year was no different. The trip began as any good trip begins, with a trip to Cracker Barrel. And nothing says Cracker Barrel like the ever popular "jump the golf tees" game. (I'm sure there's a more refined name for it, but you know what I'm talking about.)

Well, I am proud to say that I have a "genius" for a husband. Not once, but twice he widdled that annoying little thing down to one tee! I was so proud of him I made him take a picture.

Then it was onward to the old part of Williamsburg. We like to try a different tavern every time we go, and this time it was Josiah Chownings (mostly because it was impossible to get reservations anywhere else!) Below is Mr. Josiah. That was great fun. They seat you at group tables, in other words, no privacy. So we struck up a conversation with the couple across from us and had some fun watching the tavern's magician do his tricks.

The rest of the day we enjoyed the sites, sounds, and smells (provided by the lovely beasts below) of Williamburg.

My Hubby in front of the fireplace at the Williamburg Inn. (We could never afford to stay there so we just hang out in front of their fireplace and pretend.)

While Kris read I went on a photo adventure, as I often love to do cause he often loves to read! Below are some shots around the Williamburg Inn.

The "Library" of the Inn.

A mysterious spiral staircase. (Ok, not so "mysterious" but I liked the sound of mysterious.)

The golf course.

And we ended the day with a romantic walk around the "grounds". We discovered that our camera has a timer! This means 2 things. 1) I don't have to beg people to take our picture anymore, and 2) no more up-the-nose self portraits. You're welcome.

The photo below happened when I asked if we could do something different besides just stand next to each other. He said, "Come here." I said, "But what are we going to do?" He said, "Just come here." So being the good wife that I am I listened, and as I counted down 3, 2, 1...he scooped me up and the rest as they say, is history.

I love you, Hubby.

Football, Friends, and First Fnow

We've started buying Christmas presents for our little booger, but we can't wait to give them to him! One of those prematurely given gifts is a ball set (football, soccer ball, and basketball). Out little guy has gotten really good at catching them off the bounce pass. The football catch still needs to be mastered, but I just like this picture of him with this ball so I decided to post it!

We recently went over to visit one of the cutest girls in our church, Anna Tilles. She is actually almost 2 months older than Jack, but being that he's off the charts and she's in the fifth percentile you wouldn't have guessed she's the older one. Although, she is more advanced in her intelligence. She does things like wave, where our Jack is still just biting things. :)

Our little man putting the moves on pretty quickly!

And then there was the first snow of his life. Here are some shots from yesterday and today.

Jack or Jess? or even Kris?

People sometimes ask who Jack looks more like, me or Kris. Well, I personally think these shots seal the deal for me. However, both Kris and I have noticed recently that he's starting to look a little bit more like him! So now you're wondering what Kris looked like when he was younger. Here's your answer...

A hunk from day one. :)

First Tooth!

I don't have any pictures as proof, but Jackers woke up this morning with his firth tooth stickin' out. He was so brave. He only woke up once during the night from the discomfort. I'm sure he gets his high pain tolerance from me. (Not!)

Thanksgiving at the Raglands

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving at my parent's house. Jack got to meet lots of people and dogs that he's never met before. Maybe in a future post we'll have pictures of the large dogs licking my son's face. In the meantime, enjoy some pics from our time together.

Jack and my Dad.

The fam at a local Starbucks. Of course Jack's was decaf.

These are my two brothers. I think this is their first appearance on the blog. Believe it or not, Josiah (the one on my left) is only 13! Ben is training to be a DC firefighter. Isn't that a face you'd want pulling you out of the flames. :)

It was accidentally brown and blue day. I guess it's not a surprise when I'm the one who picks out clothes for the whole family.

These "clothes" were picked out by my mother. Look at those muscles!

So much to give thanks for!

Happy, Sleepy, and Showy

Once upon a time there were three elves named Happy, Sleepy, and Showy. One day Showy convinced his brothers to make a music video with him for Christmas, and the rest is history. Click here for "history".

Seafood and Reading with Nonna

Jack has been doing some funny things recently. One of them is he likes to put things in his mouth and leave them there. Recently I caught some pictures of this because it looks so funny! Here he is eating a shark.

And here he chomps on some shrimp.

Later that same day Nonna was reading one of her favorite books to Jack, The BIG Picture Story Bible. Look how interested he is!

How cute!

Time with Daddy

Inching Closer

Jack has a secret. He's pretty sure he wants to marry Meg Wilcox, but since he can't talk he just dotes on her in private and does his best to impress her when they're together. Take for example a recent visit. His first move was to drool all over himself (he thought she would definitely be impressed with the amount of drool he could work up because she's pretty good at that too!).

His next move was to sit up on the couch with her, pretending to be interested in something else, but all the while plotting his next move.

And finally, after a little help from Mommy, he moved as close as he could without giving it all away.

Aren't they cute together?!

Harvest Party!

Our church hosted a Harvest Party on Halloween night. Mom and Dad bought him a Tigger outfit and he wore it with pride. They called him Tiger Woods at the Hole-in-One game. Here he is in his outfit right before we headed out.

They had a tiger cut out near the entrance and it fit us perfectly.

Family portrait...

We were dressed up as parents. (Sometimes I still feel like it's an act!)

p.s. We don't have another addition to our family, Mr. Newquist just snuck in accidentally.
