Seeing Double

As you know, we are now the proud parents of Emma Catherine. What you may not know is that the same day we became a proud Aunt and Uncle. At 1:30 am, moments before Emma was born, Kristin Marcantonio (Kris' brother's wife) had her water break. Sophie Isabella arrived at 6:33pm. She weighed 8lb 1oz and 21 inches. Below are some pictures of the twins cousins. The first three pics are Emma and the next three are Sophie. Do they look related or what?!

And here are some pictures from tonight following Emma's first bath at home. SHE HAS CURLY HAIR! Who knew!?

Emma Has Arrived!

This is Kris writing, since Jessica needs her rest...

Well, after seven extra days of waiting, Emma Catherine has arrived! Here are the stats: born at 2:12 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30; 8 lbs. 8 oz.; and 20 3/4 inches. We can hardly believe our little girl has arrived, but here she is in our arms! She is simply the most precious little girl in the world!

Enough talk, though, here are some pictures:

Taking a mid-morning nap with Mama...

Big Brother watching out for his little sister...

Jack was giving little Emma Kate lots of kisses while visiting.

Jack trying to learn the meaning of gentleness...
Our Growing Family...

Two Beauty Queens!

Sleep soundly, Emma Kate. We are so happy you are here!

Inigo Montoya

You don't have to teach a boy to like sticks and sword fighting. While we visited my parents in Charlottesville Jack got a chance to brush up on his skills. Sorry there is no sound. The only one you really miss the sound with is the second one. Just pretend you hear his sqealing every time Kris comes after him.

At the Park with Nonna and Pop Pop

Yesterday was a full day for little Jack Tyler. Nonna and Pop Pop visited with us for the morning. Pop Pop can't sit still so upon arrival he immediately asked Jack what they were going to do that day and out the door they went for a walk around the neighborhood and a long visit to the park...

It takes a lot to wear Pop Pop and Nonna out, but Jack managed to do it. Everyone was in need of a nap by lunch time. We love it when you guys come to visit! No more cross country trips where you leave us for a month! That was brutal! :)

On the Phone

Jack thinks that talking on the phone is synonymous with talking to Coach (Grandpa). Whenever he picks up his little toy phone and I ask him who he's talking to, it's usually "Ca" which is short for Coach.

While we were in Charlottesville a few weeks ago he had quite the conversation, filled with all sorts of facial expressions...

Looks like the call didn't end well.

D-Day

So today is Emma's due date. Babies rarely come on the actual due date, so I'm not counting on anything today...but that said, I have been having contractions all morning/afternoon. Jack and I went on a 2.5 mile walk this morning to try and "walk Emma out", but the contractions don't seem to be getting too intense so it's a little confusing as to what is going on, but we could have a D-Day baby! Stay tuned...
