Jack had a Birthday

About a month and a half ago Jack turned 1. It was a little weird planning my son's birthday party, but we ended up having a wonderful time with lots of family and friends. Below are pictures of Jack's first encounter with a cake.

And then we had fun in the backyard playing with one of Jack's new toys, the Baby Jack Jack Bubble Blower.

Thank you to everyone who made time to come and make it such a fun and memorable day!

Morning with Meg

Meg Wilcox came over to play with Jack a couple weeks ago. It was so sweet to see how nicely they played together. I started to grow even more in my excitement for Jack to have a little sister (they tell us it's a girl--90% chance).

They didn't play perfectly together the whole time (mostly because Jack doesn't understand why his toys need to be shared), but when they learned to cooperate it sure was cute.

Daddy's Boy

Here are some cute pictures from the last couple months. Jack loves being with his Daddy.

Walker Walking

I've been trying to capture this on camera for the past week or so. Our little Booger is beginning to walk. He pushes his little walker around the room, but doesn't know how to turn around, so the walks are pretty short. You can see in the video when he catches a glimpse of himself in the mirror, and from then on he can't take his eyes off himself! I think it was because he was wearing a muscle tee.

I have a feeling he'll be making very similar shaky movements in about 80 years.

Ball Samples

Something else Jack has grown fond of is putting large balls in his mouth. I think he fancies how it takes up all the room in his mouth. However, I'm pretty sure he's convinced that different colors have different tastes.

Batter Up!

Jack loves to play ball. One of the things he picked up recently is how to swing a bat. We don't know where he learned it but one day he started swinging with both hands and even using the correct grip! Please excuse the camera work, I had to be the camera person and camera crew.

He wears me out just watching him!
